The Bluefin Cruise Carbon includes a very easy and comfortable triple-action hand pump. There are three different settings that can be used to inflate the board. The third is most effective because it inflates the board when pulling it up and when pressing it down. Along with the super solid construction, Bluefin has added some nice features to its board that makes it stand out from similarly priced competitors.
We tested the Bluefin Cruise on a stunning July morning in Emsworth, Chichester Harbour. The wind was very light and perfect for paddleboarding. Stability Bluefin Cruise Carbon Triple-Action Air Pump: Included in the delivery is a triple-action pump. This air pump has two cylinders and a total of three modes. In the first mode, only one cylinder is used to pump air when pushing down, just like a single stroke pump. The board has a single air chamber. Unfortunately, Bluefin does not provide any exact information regarding the volume. According to experience, however, it should be well over 500 liters. This ensures an impressively high buoyancy and is the basic requirement to achieve a good performance even with 2 people on the paddle boarding. The PVC used is of very high quality (military grade) and UV-resistant coated. In the core, many polyester threads are very tightly interwoven (dropstitch) to achieve increased strength. These are good conditions for durability. Bluefin’s recommendation is not too far off the truth, and I’d say any beginner over 90kgs might want to consider the 12’, which has a lot more buoyancy.The pump is a convenient triple-action pump, the Swift Maxi, where you can assemble the handles and base plate yourself. This is convenient for compact storage of the pump. The deflate function is very nice to use when deflating the board. Removable Fins
The underside is white and running lengthwise is a design band in shaded blue tones and the Bluefin SUP lettering. The surrounding rails are color-coordinated and labeled with the manufacturer’s name and the designation FRS (Flex Reduction System). To me, the design makes a really good impression and the bottom reminds me strongly of the design of surfboards. Other Features This is the best paddleboarding experience I have had so far, and it is hard to imagine that something better will come along soon, especially for a price in this range. None of it disappoints, and there is so much included that you really never need anything again to keep paddle boarding. ( Unless you break stuff, but I generally only do that only with computers;)). I started paddling out towards the open water and was immediately impressed by how easy it was to maneuver. The board felt incredibly agile and responsive to my every move, making it easy to navigate through the waves. I also love how lightweight it is, which made it easy to carry around.The 12’ is the same width as the 10’8, so although the board can carry more weight, it feels very similar in terms of side-to-side wobbliness. Yes, that’s a non-technical term but hopefully that makes sense! So it’ll be wrong to think the 12’ is much more stable. I recently had the opportunity to try out the Bluefin Cruise Carbon 10’8 Paddleboard on the water, and I have to say, it was an amazing experience! The Bluefin Cruise Carbon is so stiff I could not believe it. As soon as I stepped onto the board, I could feel its sturdy and stable design. Despite being an inflatable paddleboard, it felt incredibly rigid and responsive, even in choppy waters. In the Bluefin Cruise Carbon, the edges were additionally reinforced, which makes the board much more robust, and in addition, the eponymous carbon layer was incorporated. The coiled ankle leash is comfortable and perfect for the style of paddleboarding you’ll do on the Bluefin. What I don’t like about the Cruise
Front bungee storage area gives you a secure spot to stash your dry bag, soft-sided SUP cooler, and other paddling gear.The excellent workmanship, the simple, modern design, the sporty construction and the extensive scope of delivery distinguish the boards of the British manufacturer. Additional Carrying Handles: The board is equipped with four additional carrying handles made of neoprene. The regular Bluefin Cruise only includes a fiberglass paddle, which isn’t bad either, but can’t compete with a carbon paddle. Other manufacturers, on the other hand, only include aluminum paddles, which are sufficient for the beginning, but due to the high weight and poor workmanship is later replaced by many paddlers. With its dimensions of 15′ x 36″ x 6″, the board is perfect for use by 2 people (possibly even more). The width surpasses even allrounder boards by lengths and offers a very high tipping stability.
